Change Orders are initiated by the Contractor, Architect/Engineer or Owner, and may increase or decrease the scope of the project as defined by the plans and specifications.  Change Orders are reviewed by the Architect/Engineer and staff prior to submission to the School Board for approval.  The additive changes are required to replace existing gutter on the south side of the building using unit price in contract.  Additionally, this change order will charge the contractor liquidated damages for failure to substantially complete the project by the new substantial completion date of May 30, 2010 by 19 days.  Substantial Completion was achieved on June 18, 2010.  In accordance with the specifications, failure to meet the substantial completion date results in liquidated damages of $1,000 a day for every calendar day elapsing between the date fixed for substantial completion and the date substantial completion has actually been achieved. 

If approved, this Change Order will decrease the contract amount by $16,960.00.
